Job Summary
The Partner in Accounting Advisory is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, management, and execution of high-quality advisory services. The individual will build and maintain client relationships, lead business development efforts, and ensure the firm’s services align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. This role requires a deep understanding of financial reporting, auditing standards, regulatory compliance, and the ability to guide clients through complex accounting and financial challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the accounting advisory practice.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals to ensure the highest levels of client service and technical proficiency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and innovation within the team.
- Collaborate with other partners and senior leadership to contribute to the firm’s overall growth and strategy.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on accounting, audit, and financial matters.
- Lead engagements for key clients, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with professional standards and client expectations.
- Provide strategic insights to clients on complex financial reporting, technical accounting, and auditing issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the firm’s accounting advisory practice.
- Develop proposals, deliver presentations, and negotiate service agreements with potential clients.
- Enhance the firm’s visibility in the market through networking, industry involvement, and thought leadership activities.
Technical Expertise & Advisory
- Provide expert guidance on complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues, including IFRS, US GAAP, and other regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in accounting standards, audit methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist clients in addressing challenges related to mergers and acquisitions, revenue recognition, lease accounting, financial restatements, and other specialized transactions.
- Lead the development of solutions for internal control issues, risk management, and compliance challenges.
Regulatory & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards, including PCAOB, AICPA, IFRS, and US GAAP, among others.
- Provide guidance on regulatory developments and ensure that the firm’s services align with changing requirements.
- Identify and manage risks associated with engagements, ensuring that the firm maintains the highest ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- CPA designation or equivalent professional certification.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in accounting advisory, audit, or financial consulting, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or partner role.
- Extensive experience with IFRS, US GAAP, PCAOB, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Strong track record of client relationship management and business development.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Deep understanding of industry-specific accounting challenges.
- Experience working with publicly listed companies or large multinational organizations.
- Prior experience in a Big 4 or similar professional services firm.
